The number that gets you seen. Two phones: one at the start, one at the finish.
The whole curve in one run: the start, the handover from force to form, and what is left at the end. By 20 yards you are already near 90 % of your top speed — the last 10 % takes another 20–40.
Not because a match is 40 metres long, but because the split tells you which athlete you have. Fast out and fading = explosive but form-deficient. Slow out and strong late = the engine is there, the first step isn’t. Two players can run the same 40 for opposite reasons and need opposite training. This is the test that stops you guessing which.
Place the start line — the app measures out the 40 by itself. Drop a cone at each line.
The finish phone films the line. The start phone (any iPhone with the app) watches the athlete.
Link the phones with the QR — wait for “Start phone linked”.
The clock starts on the first movement at the start phone, stops as the shoulders cross the finish.
The start phone detects movement onset up close; the finish phone times the shoulders crossing the finish plane. The two clocks are synchronised over a direct phone-to-phone link — no network needed.
Calibratable against a known 40 m in Lab mode. Every ranked run carries its clip.
